⚠ SATIRE   No score is a statement of fact. It's a joke.

Privacy & cookies

The Idiocracy Index (idiocracies.com) is a satirical website. This page explains, in plain language, what data is collected when you visit, why, and the choices you have. We don't ask you to create an account, and we don't sell your personal information.

Who runs this site

This site is an independent satirical project. For any privacy question or request, contact: idiocraccies@gmail.com.

What we collect

We do not ask you for your name, email, or any personal detail to read the scoreboard. The only data involved is collected automatically by the third-party services below (analytics and advertising), in the form of cookies and standard technical information such as your approximate location (country/region), device and browser type, pages viewed, and referring site.

One preference we store locally on your device (not on a server) is your chosen language, via your browser's localStorage. It never leaves your device and you can clear it anytime.

Cookies

Cookies are small files placed on your device. We and our partners use them to measure traffic and, where applicable, to show advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the scoreboard will still work, though some features (like remembering your language) and ad relevance may be affected.

Analytics, Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how many people visit and which content is popular, so we can improve the site. It sets cookies and processes the technical data described above in aggregated, pseudonymous form. Learn more in Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out site-wide with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Advertising, Google AdSense

This site displays ads served by Google AdSense and its partners. Key points required by Google:

If you are in the EEA, UK or Switzerland, a consent banner manages your choices for advertising and measurement cookies before non-essential cookies are set.

Other third parties

Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. under the EU/UK GDPR, or California's CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to object to or opt out of certain advertising. Because we don't collect identifying information directly, most requests are best directed to the relevant third party (Google, etc.), but you can always contact us at idiocraccies@gmail.com and we'll help.

Children

This site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Data retention

Analytics and advertising data are retained by the respective providers according to their own policies and your settings. We don't keep a separate database of visitors.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page as the site evolves or as legal requirements change. The "last updated" date above reflects the latest version.

Reminder: The scores on this site are satire, humorous exaggerations, not statements of fact. See the methodology & disclaimer.
